Generic ToonTask Dialogue
In Toontown Online, NPCs who either need to be visited to complete a ToonTask or can be approached to obtain new ToonTasks come with a set of generic dialogue that is not unique to a particular ToonTask's storyline nor to the NPC. This dialogue can vary depending on where the player is, or just vary randomly.
Generic Greeting Dialogue
Dialogue used when the player first approaches the NPC. Text enclosed in parentheses varies depending on the name of the player's Toon.
- Choose a ToonTask. [Used if the NPC is available for offering ToonTasks]
- Hello, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Greetings (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Hi, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- How are you, (PLAYER TOON NAME)?
- Howdy, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Say there, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Hey there, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Welcome, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Great job, (PLAYER TOON NAME)! Take this reward... [Used when turning in a random one-step ToonTask]
- Wonderful job, (PLAYER TOON NAME)! Here is your reward... [Used when turning in a random one-step ToonTask]
Generic Guidance Dialogue
Dialogue used when the player is being told by an NPC to go to a specific destination, such as to another NPC's building. Text enclosed in parentheses varies depending on the context, such as which NPC the player must visit.
- (NPC)'s building is called "(BUILDING NAME)"... [This statement is said first, then when the player advances the dialogue, one of the following 3 statements listed below can be said afterwards]
- ...which is on (STREET NAME) in (PLAYGROUND NAME). [Used when player is not on the same street and/or not in the same playground as the destination NPC]
- ...which is on this street. [Used when the destination NPC is found in a building located on a street]
- ...which is in this playground. [Used when the destination NPC is found in a building located in the playground]
Generic Departure Dialogue
Dialogue used when the player has reached the last set of the NPC's dialogue, meaning the next time the player clicks the NPC's speech bubble to progress the text, the player will disengage from the NPC. Text enclosed in parentheses varies depending on the name of the player's Toon.
- Come back later if you need a ToonTask! Bye! [Used if player did not select a ToonTask offered by an NPC offering ToonTasks]
- Have fun in Toontown!
- See ya, (PLAYER TOON NAME)!
- Bye!
- Goodbye!
- Good luck!
- See you later!
- So long, (PLAYER TOON NAME).
Generic ToonTask Reward Dialogue
Dialogue used when the player turns in a ToonTask and the NPC mentions the player's reward as their departure dialogue. In the context of this list, variable "X" stands for a varying number that depends on the ToonTask's reward, e.g. if a ToonTask's reward increases the player's Laff limit by 2, X = 2. Text marked in parentheses stands for text that can vary depending on what Gag track a player is training for, etc.
- Your Laff limit has been increased by X.
- You now have frame X of the (GAG TRACK) track animation.
