Blocking policy

Toontown Wiki uses a blocking policy to allow more control in how administrators should block users.

Administrators may choose to block for any valid time length at their own discretion, but it is advised that all blocks must be one of the possible block offenses.

Policy

Blockable offenses

• Vandalism of all forms
  • False information
  • Inappropriate content, language, and/or images
  • Removing valid content (and blanking)
  • Nonsense/gibberish on pages
  • Spamming
  • And other harmful acts
• Persistent advertising after repeatedly asked to stop (also adding links to external sites not approved by the wiki)
• Unacceptable user name
• Sockpuppetting to avoid blocks
• Personal attacks on users and/or the community
• Insubordination (repeatedly disobeying warnings)
• Cheating for badges
• Plagiarism
• Violations of the Wiki Rules, Staff Policy, and/or indie.io' Terms of Service]

Recommended blocking durations

Vandalism (removing valid info, nonsense/gibberish, false information)

• First offense: Warning
• Second offense: 3 days to 1 month
• Third offense: 2 weeks to 3 months
• Fourth offense: Indefinite (permanent)

Intended vandalism (everything else, e.g. - inappropriate content/images, profane language)

• First offense: 3 days to 1 month
• Second offense: 2 weeks to 3 months
• Third offense: Indefinite

Persistent advertising

• First offense: Warning
• Second offense: 2 weeks to 3 month
• Third offense: Indefinite

Personal attacks on users and/or the community

• First offense: Warning
• Second offense: 1 week to 1 month
• Third offense: 2 weeks to 3 months
• Fourth offense: Indefinite

Insubordination

• First offense: Warning
• Second offense: 3 days to 1 month
• Third offense: 2 weeks to 3 months
• Fourth offense: Indefinite

Cheating for badges

• First offense: Warning
• Second offense: 3 days to 1 month
• Third offense: 2 weeks to 3 months
• Fourth offense: Indefinite

Sockpuppeting

• Indefinite on all accounts

Unacceptable username

• Indefinite
