October 29, 2008: Halloween Art Contest Winners

The Toon Council sends a shivering thank you to all of the Toon ghouls and boys who showed their Halloween spirit with a Toontastic Halloween scene. We had a chillingly good time with our friends from the Toontown Art Appreciation Society reviewing each spooky entry, and we have our winners. These top five spooky submissions each win a Disney "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" Collector's Edition DVD and a Jack Skellington Candy Dish! Visit Is everyone excited for Halloween in Toontown?

October 29, 2008: Halloween Fun

Halloween is here! The Toon Council has spread some brand-new gloom all over Toontown with chilling new Halloween decorations, and the festivities are just getting started. Toons can celebrate our spookiest holiday with these awesome activities!

Black Cat Day

On October 31 only, create your very own Black Cat Toon! Start a new Toon -- a cat, of course. Go through the Toontorial, and when Flippy asks you to use a SpeedChat phrase, say "Toontastic!"

Trick-or-Treating

Stock up on jellybeans by trick-or-treating around town October 29 through November 2! Complete the puzzle located on the News page to find out which shops will be participating. Knock on all six doors and use your "Trick-or-Treat" SpeedChat phrase, available in Clarabelle's Cattlelog, to receive a special Toon pumpkin head!

Bloodsucker Invasions

The Bloodsuckers' favorite time of year has arrived. Watch out for mega Halloween invasions of these ghoulish Cogs! The Toon Resistance reports that the Bloodsuckers are planning to pounce on unsuspecting Toons for two days, starting on Halloween. So help save Halloween by beating back these fiendish invaders!

Plus, there is still time to get Clarabelle's "spirited" Cattlelog items, but once Halloween day has passed, they will vanish until next year!

Which of these spooktacular activities are you most excited about?

October 31, 2008: Beware of Black Cats

Halloween is here, and today is the only day of the year that players can create a black cat Toon. Have you created yours yet? If not, here's how you do it. Start a new Toon -- a cat, of course. Go through the Toontorial, and when Flippy asks you to use a SpeedChat phrase, say "Toontastic!" Then - poof - you are now a black cat!

We are excited to welcome these super-cool new Toons each Halloween. So we want to know, how many new black cats are out there?

November 3, 2008: Halloween Fun may be done...

We really had a blast with Halloween this year, and hope Toons enjoyed trick-or-treating, the holiday decorations, and a special appearance from Mickey. The Toon Resistance really appreciates all of your help in beating back those invading Bloodsucker Cogs too. Also, a Toontastic welcome to each of the new black cat Toons out there! Now that Halloween is over, we want to know what you would like to see in Toontown for next Halloween?

November 5, 2008: Billy Budd's 6th Annual Fishing Tournament Winners

Billy Budd sends a hearty thank you to all of the Toons who competed in his 6th Annual Fishing Tournament! This legendary Toontown fishing extravaganza sure was a blast. Billy has tallied the results, and we have our winners. Please join us in congratulating the top three Toons in each of the five fishing rod categories (twig, bamboo, hardwood, steel, and gold) who caught the most fish -- per day! These winners will each net a Disney/Pixar "Wall-E" 3-Disc Special Edition DVD! Which fish species do you like?[1]

November 12, 2008: ToonTask Derby

Now that Halloween has passed and we have a new crop of Black Cats, it seems only fitting to see a bunch of new Toons completing ToonTasks at a record pace. So many, that we thought it would be fun to hold an event to see which Toons can complete the most tasks in a day. Thus, the great ToonTask Derby of 2008 is born, and begins this Saturday, November 15 at midnight PT and runs through Sunday, November 16 -- for a full 48 hours. The top ten Toons that complete the most ToonTasks each day will win a copy of Disney's "Bolt" Soundtrack CD. Will the winners be all Black Cat Toons or will other Toons give them a run for their money, err... jellybeans?

Fall Toon-up

Fall is finally here, and there are so many ways to celebrate! Start your fall "Toon-up" by challenging other Toons to a karting race-off. Then take some time to keep your garden in shape, or if you haven't started one, get a starter kit from Clarabelle's Cattlelog. Fall is a great time to plant a gag tree or three! In anticipation of the winter holiday gift-giving extravaganza, host a fall fishing festival with your friends - and earn a cornucopia of jellybeans. Or ... organize a tour of Toontown's many fishing ponds. It's a season full of fun in Toontown! How are you planning to "Toon-up" your Toon this fall?[2]

Toon Holiday Shopping Spree

Speaking of winter holiday fun -- check out Clarabelle's Cattlelog and get a jump on your holiday shopping. Holiday-themed decorations, SpeedChat phrases, and clothes all designed to give your Toon a little holiday cheer are available now. With so much to choose from, what is on your Toon shopping list?[3]

Holiday Greeting Card Contest

The holidays are here, and the Toon Council is ready to celebrate! We want to start by wishing everyone a Toontasic holiday season, and we welcome you to do the same with our holiday greeting card design contest. To enter, create an original Toontown-themed holiday greeting card for your Toon friends, family, or even the Cogs. Be creative: Use anything you like and make it any size you want -- just be sure to make it full of Toonerific holiday fun.[4]

Thankful Toons Contest Winners

There are so many great things about Toontown that we at the Toon Council are thankful for -- such as our Toon friends, our wacky Estates, and our favorite Cog-smashing gags. We are also really thankful for all of the Toons who sent in their "Thankful Toons" contest entries -- these screenshots and captions are Toontastic! The top five winners are in -- please join us as we congratulate these "Thankful" Toons.[5]

ToonTask Derby Winners

Toons were really completing Tasks at a furious pace during our wacky ToonTask Derby. We have the results, thanks in part to our friends from the "Many Analytical Toons Happily Sorting and Furiously Unifying Numbers" Society (M.A.T.H.S.F.U.N.), of course. Join us in congratulating the top ten Toons that completed the most Tasks each day. These ToonTask Derby champs each win a copy of Disney's "Bolt" Soundtrack CD![6]

Winter Holiday Extravaganza

Toons are having a jolly Winter Holiday as Toontown receives a seasonal Toon-up this year with brand-new decorations! Explore each neighborhood to see all of the Toontastic holiday trees and street lamps which are sure to warm the hearts of Toons all over -- and maybe even a Cog or two. (Well, Toons can hope, can't they?)

Clarabelle is joining the holiday fun with some "a-moo-zing" Cattlelog items -- including complete winter outfits, fireplaces to keep Toons toasty, and a bevy of Winter Holiday Estate decorations -- including an interior wreath, seasonal moldings, and a Winter Tree to top it all off.

Plus, there is a very special Estate snowman gardening statue for Toons to enjoy, which requires a gardening shovel skill of one point to plant. If you haven't started a garden, now is a great time to get your Gardening Kit from the Cattlelog, plant a flower (Hint: use a green jellybean), then wait one day to pick it to earn one shovel skill point -- then you can purchase and plant your snowman. So be sure to get one ... before he melts away![7]

December 19, 2008: SpeedChat Plus Is Now Available

The players of Toontown have asked for more ways to chat in-game, and we've listened. The Toon Council is excited to announce our newest addition to Toontown -- SpeedChat Plus! This new feature is available to all players and allows you to chat with other Toontown players by using approved words from the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary. Words that are not in the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary will be highlighted in red. You then have the opportunity to choose alternative words prior to sending your message. Now you can really express yourself in Toontown like never before!

With the addition of SpeedChat Plus to Toontown, we would like to remind players to follow Disney's House Rules while chatting. Never give out personal information, such as your name, address, or phone number and always keep your password safe -- even from your friends! If you are unsure of a situation, be sure to grab a parent for help. Also, the Toon Council is always here to help, so feel free to Contact Us if the need arises. Be a Responsible Toon, and help keep Toontown a fun and safe place to play. Remember -- a safe Toon is a happy Toon!

December 24, 2008: Cog Invasion Weekend

The Toon Resistance is reporting that the Cogs aren't happy with all of the Winter Holiday fun Toons are having -- and they want to put a stop to it! Rumor has it they are planning a big Cog invasion, of the Sellbot variety, for this weekend. Our sources tell us that these invasions will begin with the first wave at 10:00AM through 3:00PM PT, then again at 6:00PM through 11:00PM PT -- both Saturday and Sunday. Keep your eyes peeled, your gags fully stocked -- and help keep our Winter Holiday Extravaganza safe from the Cogs!

Holiday Greeting Card Contest Winners

The holidays are here, and the Toon Council is ready to celebrate! We hope everyone is having a Toontasic holiday season so far, and we want to thank all of the Toons who sent in Toontown-themed holiday greeting card designs. We had a blast reading them -- these cards sure are full of Toonerific holiday fun! Please join us in congratulating the top five cards. These winners will each receive a holiday gift pack including a Disney snowman Mickey Mouse figure, and a copy of "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas" DVD.[8]
