Chris Barkoff was the former community manager, retention marketing manager, primary web producer for Toontown Online, and back-up game producer for both Toontown and Pirates of the Caribbean Online.
While serving as the community manager and retention marketing manager for Toontown, his achievements included:
- Oversaw all game communication and retention marketing for Disney’s Toontown Online, the first-ever MMORPG for kids and families. Took the lead in developing the master messaging strategy for game content releases, as well as monthly in-game events.
- Played a key role in designing the overarching game content concepts and updates with game development, story, and art teams.
- Acted as “Voice of the Community” leading efforts to collect player feedback for team review, as well as to develop and implement game enhancements.
- Collaborated cross-functionally in a part-time production role with various teams focused on community and game related projects and initiatives.
- Developed ARG content for "ToonFest" fan event that garnered 1,000+ total attendees.
Serving as a producer for Toontown, his achievements included:
- Served as the primary web producer and back-up game producer for Disney’s Toontown Online and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Online. Managed the end-to-end production of both games for this period, from scoping and integration to release across the websites and games.
- Managed the prizing portion of the Toontown Award Manager, the system used to distribute awards to contest winners.
Barkoff continued to serve as a lead producer for Disney Interactive Studios from 2012 to 2014 for Disney's Club Penguin. Afterwards, he served as a Lead Producer in Disney Consumer Products and Interactive from 2014 to 2017.
