Paradigm Shift is a Cog move that can be used by The Mingler and the Spin Doctor. It is notorious for its high damage.

Animation

  1. The Cog wiggles its fingers and yellow sparks appear.
  2. The Cog causes the sparks to fly at the Toon(s).
    • If a Toon gets hit by the attack, he/she will be lifted up and shake in the air before being dropped to the ground, losing laff points. The Toon(s) will then either go sad or get up and continue the battle.
    • If the attack misses, the Toon(s) jumps over the sparks, the sparks fly away, and the cycle continues.

Phrases

  • "Watch out! I'm rather shifty."
  • "Prepare to have your paradigm shifted!"
  • "Isn't this an interesting paradigm."
  • "You'll get shifted out of place."
  • "I guess it's your shift now."
  • "Your shift is up!"
  • "You've never shifted this much in your life."
  • "I'm giving you the bad shift!"
  • "Look into my shifty eyes!'"

Trivia

  • This is the strongest Cog attack known, because The Mingler's Paradigm Shift can cause 24 damage to all Toons at level eleven.
  • A paradigm (pronounced "pair-a-dime") shift is a sudden change in a habit or approach.
  • This is the strongest attack affecting all Toons.
  • This Trip move's animation is different than others; when the Cog uses Paradigm Shift, its back will quickly lean back and then forward then wiggle its fingers most unlike other trip moves such as Power Trip and Guilt Trip. Instead, it more closely resembles the animation for Tightwad's Fired attack and Downsizer's Downsize.
